The Pine Needle Weevil is a type of broad-nosed weevil, like the beetle featured at the beginning of the report. This little guy (less than ¼ inch) ranges across the continent and, as the name suggests, feeds on pine needles. Pine needle weevils can vary greatly in color, ranging from green to reddish-brown to gray. Robert Niese, creator of the Northwest Naturalist blog, got a nice capture of a more reddish-brown individual.
