Do you have a kiddo who is sensitive to loud and active spaces? We want everyone to enjoy their time at MBHI, so if this sounds like your little one, consider bringing them to our sensory-friendly hour! We will open early for this hour and turn off fans, heaters, foggers, and anything else that makes extra noise in the museum.
Special for 1/11 – Meet Our Friends from Advanced Autism Center for Treatment (AACT)
On this very special first Sensory-Friendly Hour of 2025 we’ll have friends from AACT joining us in the classroom to help facilitate some drop in station activities and answer questions about their organization.
Some Things to Keep in Mind:
The animal encounter area will not be open during these hours.
The staff will be quietly working to ready the museum for our regular open hours.
Art supplies are welcome but must adhere to USDA guidelines (no large bags over 12” x 12,” no monopods/tripods).
Excess noise will be kept to a minimum (fans and foggers off, etc.), but noise-canceling headphones are welcome and encouraged if needed.
