Butterfly Party (Up to 50 people)

3-hour rental of Butterfly House and Insectarium and MBHI classroom

Includes 35 chairs and 8 4’x2’ tables with black tablecloths (optional). Requests for additional chairs and tables must be made at least two weeks in advance.
Please Note: Drinks are permitted in the Insectarium and Butterfly House, but food and catering are limited to the classroom. MBHI does not provide any food, drink, or serving ware. Limited fridge and freezer space is available. Rentee must take all glass recyclables with them.
Certificate of Insurance must be provided in the event of alcohol service. MBHI does not provide any bartending services or equipment, including ice and ice buckets.
Event Rental Policies and Guidelines
- Deposit: a $150 deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. The remainder of the party fee may be paid any time before the party date or in-person on the day of the party.
- Cancellation: your deposit is 100% refundable if you cancel your program at least two weeks prior to the scheduled program date. If you cancel your program less than two weeks before the scheduled program date, you will receive a 50% refund. No refund will be issued if canceled less than one week before the program date.
- Payment cannot be split between parties.
- Setup and cleanup time are included in your 2 or 3-hour timeslot. Guests are expected to have all party supplies packed and out of the space by the end of their reservation.
- Rentee is responsible for any damages incurred by guests during the rental period.
- Heavy soiling may result in an additional $75.00 cleaning fee.
- Removal and/or relocation of any plants, flowers, decorations, furniture, interpretive signage, and any other MBHI items is prohibited. Trees, walls, rocks, and other structures cannot be climbed, and plant beds in the Butterfly House may not be entered.
- Any props or decorations you would like to bring into the Insectarium and Butterfly House must be approved by MBHI staff at least one week in advance. We reserve the right to prohibit items that we deem dangerous or harmful to the plants, animals, and systems in the Butterfly House.
- Guests are not permitted to handle any of the animals or plants in the Butterfly House & Insectarium without express permission and supervision from staff.
