This beautiful species of True Bug (order Hemiptera) has the unflattering family name of “Stink Bug” (family Pentatomidae). We did not find a lot of information about this particular species …but it appears to be more common in the Pacific Northwest. Like the one pictured here, it tends to focus on Columbine as its preferred host plant.
